you will learn in this course
- Master Your Equipment: Refine your use of diving equipment. In the CMAS Two-Star Diver course, you will learn how to adjust your Buoyancy Control Device (BCD), regulator, and wetsuit to optimize performance in deeper and more challenging dive environments.
- Practice Equalization: Learn advanced equalization techniques for deeper dives. Master the method of equalizing pressure in your ears and sinuses to ensure comfort as you descend to greater depths.
- Control Your Buoyancy: Focus on buoyancy control at deeper depths. Use your BCD and breathing techniques to maintain neutral buoyancy and conserve energy during more advanced dives.
- Stay Relaxed and Calm: Staying calm is crucial for deep dives. Avoid panic, which leads to rapid breathing and loss of control. Slow, deep breaths will help you stay focused and manage stress underwater.
- Use Proper Hand Signals: Effective communication is key. Learn and use standard hand signals with your dive buddy, ensuring clear and safe communication, especially in deeper, more complex dives.
- Follow the Dive Plan: Stick to the dive plan set by your instructor, including depth limits, time restrictions, and navigation routes, ensuring a safe and successful dive in more advanced conditions.
- Monitor Your Air Supply: In deeper dives, closely monitor your air supply. Regularly check your air gauge to ensure you have enough air to complete the dive, planning to ascend with at least 50 bar (or 500 psi) remaining.
- Ascend Slowly: Always ascend slowly and safely from deep dives, at a controlled rate of no more than 9-18 meters (30-60 feet) per minute. This helps your body safely eliminate nitrogen.
- Perform Safety Stops: After deeper dives, conduct a safety stop at 5 meters (15 feet) for 3 minutes to allow any remaining nitrogen in your body to safely exit.
- Stay Aware of Your Surroundings: Being aware of your environment is even more crucial at greater depths. Keep an eye on currents, marine life, and other divers to ensure safety.
